Soul & Story Astrology
The ‘study of the soul’ is the original meaning of the word ‘psychology’.
Astrology: Psychology of the Folk.
A psychology of the folk is a beautiful idea – a continuation of our ancestors experience and collective wisdom.
There are times when we do need outside help from experts, but sometimes we unknowingly give away our own power and ability to heal. The struggle to ‘fix’ ourselves with every new self help product, can lead us to feel broken when we’re not.
Sometimes we’re actually going through a natural transition, growth or a letting go phase, and then astrology holds a wealth of instinctive wisdom.
Story
Myths are rich with psychological truths and observations, containing “something that has never happened but is happening all the time”
Joseph Campbell
Story can help us to unravel a situation back into its separate threads or equally help us to spin a new yarn – and weave something new.
Our Shadow and our Power
Astrology can help to identify conflicting needs within ourselves, so that we can own them with awareness, compassion and responsibility.

We need both the clarity of the day, and the mystery of the night to be whole.
We are so used to communicating with words, we like the familiarity of describing our feelings this way.
Astrology is a night-time realm, where nothing is clear, and along with words, we must also communicate using images, symbols, signs, story, imagination, and dreams.
We must first get lost if we are to discover somewhere new.
Embodied.
Talking therapies are good, but they still focus on our mind – we can only talk of what we are conscious of – symbol, story, nature and the senses of the body are all ancient pathways in to our psyche.
The ‘civilised’ world has neglected its soul – lost its divinity, there is a scarcity of wildness as we pursue and prioritise fact, order and clarity.
I run astrology based groups and one to one astrological work.
