Carl Jung and his Red Book
The Red Book was Jung’s record of his inner journey into the imagination. Through art, pattern symbols and words – his dreams and active imagination became a path to self-discovery and transformation.
but you don’t need to know his red book – you need to know yours.
“There is only one way, and that is your way… I warn you away from my own, it can be the wrong way for you.” — C. G. Jung, The Red Book
Intuitive art and expression
Explore your own personal journey by making your own Red Book.
Together we will creatively explore our own stories, through the language of Astrology, Myth and symbolism, to help us gain deeper self awareness and connection to ourselves through pen, paint, crayon, scissors, glue, music, words…
Man is a storyteller.
We are unconsciously telling our own stories all the time
Speaking in symbols and stories.
There is a universal language of imagery and symbols you know already.
It connects us to everything –
But we have forgotten it.
Astrology, art and symbol are ways to rediscover this connection.
“The sky is like a friend we’ve stopped listening to”
Richard Tarnas.
What’s in a Red Book group?
Astrology & myth
We will briefly look at the stories and symbols associated with the current Solar season, and how its energy is being shared by the moon.
Creativity
The art and writing might be experimental, intuitive, simple or sophisticated – and probably all of these things at different times – it depends on the inner parts of us that want to be heard.
Collecting your Journey.
It’s helpful to gather elements of your personal journey between classes – collecting together dreams, synchronicities, symbols, and other things you notice
Sharing & Support
We are relational beings! so you will be invited to share your reflections and experiences (invited– not required!), because encouraging and supporting each other is nourishing and builds trust and community.
We have a rich inner world of archetype and imagery that is not an alternative reality – it forms the very fabric of our outer lived experience.
